The buzz surrounding the series "Adolescence" that has become a sensation around the world, called "Adolescence", has also affected Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In a meeting with parents while he was at the "Besnik Sykja" school in Tirana, he suggested they watch the series "Adolescence"
Rama even said that it would be good for the film to be shown in schools as it accurately shows the challenges facing society today as it relates to children.
"Since I'm a fan, I'm saying, I don't know what it's called, but I'm actually very fond of cinema and I would suggest to all of you who are here and those who are listening to me to watch a film that was recently released called "Adolescence" and I would suggest that you share it with as many others as possible. It would be great if we could screen the film for students in all schools. We could use the gyms to hold organized screenings because it's a film that has shocked the whole world and speaks exactly about what challenges we are facing today and how far we are even when it seems to us that we are actually close and how little we understand when it seems to us that we actually understand a lot from our children ," said Rama.
According to him, today families live in two universes where children have their own and it is very difficult for parents to understand what they do on social networks. Therefore, for the head of government, closing TikTok was the right step despite the difficulties.
"Unfortunately, we live in two parallel universes, they enter and exit our universe, while we do not have access to their universe and in their universe, situations and events develop that we have no idea about and unfortunately, when one of those developments comes out in the parliament in the form of a very serious event, then we are all shocked, but what happens is that it is actually every minute, every minute. Therefore, I strongly believe that closing TikTok has not solved all this problem, but it was the right step and I thank all the teachers and parents, 95% of them have encouraged us to take this step. It has not been an easy step, we are neither America nor Britain, we are a small country and TikTok is as many countries as us put together, but I believe that we have done the right thing and we have done our duty", said Rama.
“Adolescence” is a British mini-series centered on a 13-year-old student. He is arrested for the murder of a classmate. Investigations and interviews with a psychologist revealed that the main character of this series was constantly bullied on social media. On the other hand, his family must face the community as they try to recover from their son’s arrest.
Even UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has supported a move to show "Adolescence" in schools.
