The Head of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), Altin Dumani,  has stated that no one should be afraid of the establishment of special structures to investigate electoral crimes.

The head of SPAK stated that they should continue their normality as long as they are not in violation of the law and in fulfillment of legal and constitutional obligations.

"No one should be afraid as long as they are fulfilling their legal and constitutional obligations, and no one should be afraid as long as they are fulfilling their duties."

We are the institution of criminal prosecution and it is a constitutional and legal obligation that whenever a case is presented to us to be handled, a criminal fact, we are obliged to exercise criminal prosecution and conduct all necessary verifications in order to file a successful indictment.

"This is a constitutional and legal obligation, but definitely no one should be afraid to continue with their daily normality as long as they are not in violation of the law," said Altin Dumani.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama commented a day ago on the establishment of special structures to investigate electoral crimes, stating that political parties cannot be monitored.

"Political parties cannot be monitored in an electoral process. I hope that this is a momentary aberration and that any kind of surveillance in the territory is immediately lifted because we can never, ever return to the dark times of who deals with politics being monitored. Taking these positions is an interference in the freedoms and political rights of Albanians and their representatives," said the head of government.
