La Sapienza University has honored Ilaria Sula, the 22-year-old Albanian woman who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend originally from the Philippines.
He then put her body in a suitcase and threw it into the abyss.
Hundreds of students have responded to the appeal of the rector of La Sapienza, Antonella Polimeni, for a moment of remembrance for Ilaria Sula.
Boys and girls gathered together in what is called a "loud silence," caused only by the sound of keys, which has become a symbol of protest against crimes committed by women.
Rector Polimeni, together with the young people who attended the course at the Faculty of Statistics near Ilaria, placed a bouquet of white flowers under a banner depicting the murdered girl.
