US Chargé d'Affaires Nancy VanHorn held a meeting this Wednesday with the new Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, Joan Pelushin.

Through a post on the X platform, the US Embassy in Albania announced that during the meeting, in addition to congratulating him as the leader of the Albanian Orthodox Community, VanHorn discussed with the Archbishop the critical role of religious communities and the importance of continuing Albania's rich history of interfaith harmony.

"Charge-de-Charge Nancy VanHorn met today with the newly crowned Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania Joan Pelushi to convey her congratulations on his new role as leader of the Albanian Orthodox Community. They discussed the critical role of religious communities and the importance of continuing Albania's rich history of interfaith harmony," the post published on X by the US Embassy in Albania reads.
