Israeli airline El Al will begin operating direct flights to and from Albania, Israeli state broadcaster KAN announced on Tuesday.

The planes will fly starting at the end of March.

"Sun d'Or airline, a subsidiary of El Al, announced on Wednesday the launch of its new direct route to Tirana, Albania, called the "pearl of the Balkans", starting at the end of March. The flight duration is two and a half hours," the company announced.

Sun d'Orwill operates three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and the inaugural flight is scheduled for March 31, 2025. Ticket sales opened on Wednesday, with an introductory fee for a "Lite" ticket, including a stroller and backpack, priced at $279 (1,018 shekels).
