The hearing against Laert Haxhiu in the Appeal of the Special Court has started.

SPAK prosecutors want to sentence Haxhiu to life imprisonment for the incident in Lushnja with two victims and two others injured.

The defense lawyer, Detar Hysi , states in court that: "There is not enough evidence to prove that Laert Haxhiu is part of the crime."

Lawyer Hysi: I ask the court to reveal the truth about the incident in Lushnja. Laert Haxhiu has nothing to do with the murder of two people. Also, I ask the court to change the decision and declare Laert Haxhiu innocent.  If it does not give innocence, the file should be reviewed once again in the Court of First Instance.

Altin Dumani: The decision of the First Degree is a fair decision! There is legal evidence, evidence has been handled by the prosecution. It evaluated the collected evidence. The court referred to the images of the gas station, but not to the video footage brought by the father of one of the victims.  Likewise, the film footage is footage seized by OPGJ. There is no room for doubt about the authenticity of the evidence. Witnesses have been questioned about the footage.
