Camp in Gjadër

The Italian police forces present in the premises of the immigrant camps in Shengjin and Gjadër in Lezha are said to be involved in a change process. According to "La Repubblica", from the current 220 units, the number will go to 170 people to guarantee the management of the tours and cover the necessary services.

This can be considered a significant reduction of the contingent present in Albania, which when fully operational was supposed to be 295 units (personnel), but instead never exceeded 220 people, including police, carabinieri, financiers and prison officers. It seems that official Rome is having difficulties with the agreement for the immigrants, regarding their sending to the reception center and further isolation in Shengjin and Gjadër.

The two groups that were sent in October and November returned after the decisions of the Italian Court and the problems with the open lawsuits up to the European courts. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is determined to see the end of the government pact with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The Italian media also write that for the Meloni government, the way the procedures are going and the clash with justice for the list of safe countries, it is "better" to end with a clash between Rome and Brussels. The Meloni government's first reaction after the last case of immigrants who were sent to Albania and who were "forced" by a court decision to return to Italy, was immediate as they expressed their conviction that the judges are wrong.
