After 8 years, the National Folk Festival returns in Gjirokastër

After 8 years, the National Folk Festival returns to Gjirokastër. The festival will take place from June 24 to July 1 in Gjirokastra Castle.

It was the Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti who shared the news about the return of this festival with the motifs, rhythms, songs and dances of all the Albanian provinces.

"GOOD MORNING and with the good news of the return of the National Folklore Festival in the decorated Gjirokastra Castle enlivened as if by magic with the colors, motifs, rhythms, songs and dances of all the Albanian provinces, I wish you a peaceful Sunday", he writes Rama.

The first edition of this festival was opened on October 11, 1968 in the museum city of Gjirokastra, being considered at that time as a unique festival in the preservation, protection and popularization of cultural and spiritual heritage in Albania.
