Italian media have published the images of the arrest of a 39-year-old Albanian by the Rome police, after yesterday he caused panic, entering the main square of the Vatican with the vehicle type "BMW".
The Albanian, named Erjol Nako, disturbed the peace of the Vatican, forcing according to the Italian media the police to shoot with a weapon in the direction of "BMW" for the first time in many years, with the aim of neutralizing the perpetrator of the event.
The carabinieri signaled the driver to stop the vehicle, but the 39-year-old did not obey the order and left, colliding with two other officers.
In an attempt to leave, Nako threw an hour and a wallet out of the vehicle window, with the idea that he would disorient the effectives, but the carabinieri followed him again, neutralizing him at the end with an electric teaser.
The scary moments and chaos caused in the Pantheon area in Rome were filmed by the citizens and in one of the videos circulating on the network, a lady is heard shouting and expressing fear about the 39-year-old act.
"O Betim, I'm afraid, I'll not take my foot off the gas," the lady in the background is heard to say.
Meanwhile, immediately after his arrest, Erjol Nako and the two officers who were injured during his act of insanity were sent to the hospital for medical assistance.
But the reasons why the 39-year-old avoided the checkpoint by performing dangerous maneuvers on the road still remain unclear.
