The Joint Movement has reacted to the works for the construction of the "Foltor" tower, a 64-story skyscraper that will rise in the middle of Tirana, destroying one of the last flower gardens of the capital.

The workers of the "Nova Construction" company uprooted the trees of the flower garden today. The owners of this company that will build the tower are rumored to be related to Sali Berisha's family. The opposition has been criticized for not denouncing the tower, which Lulzim Basha has already taken to SPAK.

The Joint Movement invites citizens to raise their voices and not accept the "heavy blow to urban life" in Tirana.

Activists of the TOGETHER Movement testify that the destruction of the park behind the National Opera and Ballet Theater has progressed significantly. The crews of Nova Construction have uprooted the trees and are laying the foundations for the next concrete monster. Slowly the city will breathe and the citizens will have one less park.

These days the TOGETHER Movement has sent several letters to the responsible institutions as we suspect that the construction permit was given in violation of the law. The delay in providing information on the procedures for granting the construction permit, its compliance with the urban plan and the consultation with the residents is part of the mafia omerta that seeks to hide the construction of this tower.

The four protests organized by the TOGETHER Movement for the protection of the park brought this crime against the city into the sunlight of public attention. However, the protection of the park requires more commitment and self-confidence from the citizens. Therefore, we invite everyone to raise their voices against this severe blow to urban life, individually and collectively. Only in this way will we be able to transform citizen resistance into a massive and successful action.

The criminal underworld, economic oligarchy and corrupt politicians cannot always win!
