Auron Tare warns about tourism: The withdrawal of the "Low Cost"
Auron Tare

The member of the Scientific Council of UNESCO, Auron Tare, in a post on the Facebook social network, writes about tourism in Albania.

According to Taras, the withdrawal of the 'Low Cost' measure is taking away the authenticity of the country, as he adds that there is a great propaganda to present Albania as a touristic and free paradise.

Auron Tara's Status:

To be precise and correct.

This view could also be in many Mediterranean tourist cities. There is no problem with two strangers walking in their panties on the streets of the city. Or that 4 "Italians" run away without paying.

Or that some others steal coffee cups in the bars of the boulevard or that after 12 on the beaches of Saranda the smell of hashish overwhelms you.

The problem is that there is a great tendency and propaganda to present this country as a tourist paradise and worse still very cheap.

This propaganda, which has been carried out for several years by a number of institutions and sectors, has attracted a large number of Low Cost tourists.

Consequently, there is a confrontation with a large mass of foreigners who come around to find this "Promised Land" at low prices.

On the other hand, we have a large number of citizens who unexpectedly within a day turned into Hoteliers, majordomes, tourist guides, high-class drivers, guides, port agents, etc. who with a low service and through no fault of their own , create the mass of mist that comes to travel along this coastline.

In contrast, there are the agro-tourist guesthouses, which have a good quality host and are quite interested in the kind of product that has been able to create a kind of authentic local profile.

We are witnessing that in a few years in our cities this view does not make an impression on people and the local culture is undergoing a big change for the sake of a quick profit and without breaking the bank.

Therefore, countries that have passed this stage have tried to stop such explosions where the pressure of numbers damages historical landscapes, spiritual sites, coastlines and local culture.

Unfortunately, even though we are the last in the tourism game, we cannot learn from the mistakes of others and we still continue to boast that we are the country with the largest increase in tourism.

Meanwhile, no one says that we are the country with the fastest disfigurement of the coastline in Europe, destroying the local architecture, landscapes, beaches and Tonka culture.

Let the numbers live!
