According to preliminary information, citizen Shefit Rrapaj, around 80 years old, is suspected of having shot his wife, Dashuri Rrapaj, around 75 years old, with a rifle-type firearm inside their apartment. He is then suspected of having shot himself.

The couple had been living in the village of Kuman for about 20 years, having moved from Levan in Berat. They were the parents of 7 children, 3 girls and 4 boys, most of whom live abroad.

Only one of the boys lived with them and was accompanied to the police station to give testimony regarding the incident.

It is reported that there have been ongoing conflicts in the family over the years. In fact, just four days ago, the police had intervened in their apartment to clarify the disagreements between the couple.

It is also learned that about 10 years ago, the elderly man had attempted to end his life with a firearm.
