The poet Mimoza Ahmeti has been in the center of attention due to a sentence by the Court of Tirana for construction without a permit in Petrelë, with the performance of 40 hours of work for the public interest.
Invited to the "Artkand" show, Ahmeti said that she will perform the 40 hours for public interest by giving public lectures. She says that the mayor Erion Veliaj gave her permission in writing on Whats App.
"The world becomes very beautiful when things are taken simply. I have not been following these portals but someone told me that it has become big. Everything happened in good faith, because I had spoken to Erion and he had given me permission in a text on WhatsApp. Yes you can because the earthquake had collapsed and I was in my property. I always wanted to escape from the city, to build my own atelier in Petrel. But maybe I expressed it to someone I know and it aroused envy. This is not the first time, I have been attacked for my poems in the 90s. Art has something that gives you an exclusivity, when I try to put it out sometimes, I come out unbrushed and unpainted and when I look in the mirror I feel the great weight of love and trust that I have received from people. Albanians have a saying of 'Life is a test'," said Ahmeti.
