While simultaneously carrying two security measures "arrest in prison" on his shoulders, the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, makes his next attempt at the Supreme Court for freedom.

This time, the former socialist mayor seeks to annul the decision of the Special Court of July 4, which forced his stay in the cell, as a suspect for "faxitization" and "misuse of office".

Goro's appeal has been registered at the Supreme Court and will be reviewed by a Criminal Panel with judge Albana Boksi as relator, while a date for the first hearing has not yet been set.

In this matter, Goro is suspected by SPAK that in 2016 he illegally became the owner of a plot of land of almost 4200 m2 Arqile Bollanon, the same one who after Goro's arrest also ran the Municipality of Himara as a commander.

Referring to SPAK's investigation, Bollano had benefited from violations of the law, as earlier he had been treated according to law 7501 and had benefited from an area of 7700 m2.

But the success with the annulment of the measure "arrest in prison" in the Supreme Court for this case, does not guarantee Goro's freedom, as he is also burdened with another measure of arrest.

In this other file, which was filed by SPAK for trial in the Special Court, Goro is accused of "abuse of duty" in two episodes. According to SPAK, Goro is involved in the illegal registration of a land area of 5512m2, as well as the relocation of another area of 5080m2.

Both surfaces, nearly 10,500 m2, were used for a strategic investment by a company represented by the former socialist deputy, Artan Gaçi.
