An unusual event has occurred in Devoll , where, unlike what the trend of criminal acts in terms of gender and statistics shows, this time a man was persecuted and blackmailed, with the intention of profiting from a woman.

The suspect is a 42-year-old woman, a resident of the village of Miras .

Korça police announced today that they have charged him with blackmailing a 45-year-old man by demanding money from him so that he would not publish some of their photos.

It is believed that the couple had a previous relationship and the suspect took advantage of it by stalking him, with the intention of extorting him, in exchange for not denigrating him with the photos she possessed.

"Specialists from the Economic and Financial Crime Sector referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen BD, 42 years old, resident of Miras, after she is suspected of stalking a 45-year-old man and asking him for a sum of money not to publish some of their photos," local police announced on the case.

The incident will be further investigated by the prosecution, to clarify the circumstances, the previous relationship between the two people, and the causes of the blackmail.
