Bad weather / State Police appeal to drivers: These are the high risk areas
In Tirana, citizens cross the white lines on the road flooded by the rains

The State Police has appealed to drivers to be careful and avoid some high-risk roads due to the bad weather that has engulfed the entire country.

"The police appeals to drivers to moderate their speed and maintain a safe distance with other vehicles on the road," said a police announcement.

According to the police, the most problematic situation is in Lezhë, Fushë Krujë, Tirana, Durrës and Elbasan, both on the roads within the city but also on the interurban ones.

Full Police Notice:

Due to the situation created by the bad weather, the State Police has been on standby throughout the country, to help drivers and citizens in case of need for help, and to manage road traffic.

In the DPPSH and in every Local Police Directorate, steering groups have been set up and have been put on standby.

The State Police appeals to drivers to moderate their speed and maintain a safe distance with other vehicles on the road.

The areas with the highest risk are:

• Lezha, urban roads and connecting interurban roads;

• Fushë Krujë, roads in the urban area and interurban connecting roads;

• Tirana, urban and interurban roads;

• Durrës, urban roads and interurban roads connecting with Tirana and the rest of the south;

• Elbasan, roads in the urban area and connecting interurban roads.

Also, the State Police appeals to citizens not to stay in unsafe places, since due to rain and wind, trees may fall or strong objects may fall from heights.

For any need for help, drivers and citizens should call the toll-free number 112.
