For several hours now, our country has been engulfed by bad weather, mainly accompanied by torrential rains and atmospheric discharges.
Weather conditions have brought damage to poles, presence of water in cabins, outages in several 35kV lines and n/stations.
The Distribution System Operator (DSO), part of OSHEE, says it has increased readiness across the country, with means of transport and material base, focusing mainly on high voltage lines and n/stations.
"The emergency teams are on the ground and are intervening in those areas where the weather has improved, since in conditions of the presence of rain they must be careful in implementing technical safety.
From the report at 2:30 p.m., it appears that we have 71 feeders out of order, more than half of which have been shut down by DSO itself as a safety measure to avoid damage to the electrical network.
We have electricity supply problems in the areas of Fier, Kavajë, Tirana, Kukës, Koplik, Gjirokastër and Vlorë. There were also problems in n/stations, but thanks to the timely response, it was possible to restore electricity within 10 minutes.
It is important to emphasize that all the lines of the electric network that supply institutions of particular importance, such as hospitals and hydropower plants, are in full operation. Also, the 35kV high voltage lines are in optimal conditions", OSHEE announces.
