For the massacre of July 14, 2016 in France, Enkelejda Zaçe is the only woman accused. She continues to deny accusations that she was involved in the attack that killed 86 people. The 48-year-old of Albanian origin, mother of three children, was arrested on July 17 to be prosecuted afterwards, while the trial is still ongoing to prove her guilt.
"I have never sold weapons, I have never been in this organization. I have always worked in France, in a salon for cleaning food. My father and mother died, they left me the inheritance. I wanted to have a family life like everyone else, but my life changed. When that happened, I lost everything, everything. I lost everything", she is said to have said before the judge.
Although Zaçe has denied involvement, two of the other eight accused, Ramzi Arefa and Artan Henaj, have stated that she was present on July 12, 2016, when the pistol used by the killer was handed over on the night of the assassination attempt in Nice.
