The parents of Martin Can , who lost his life a short time ago in the serious incident near the "Fan Noli" school, have written a letter to the US Embassy in Tirana.
The Cani family's letter has also been sent to Albanian institutions for their information.
Martin Cani, 14 years old, lost his life on November 18th a few meters from the "Fan Noli" school, where he studied, during a fight with suspect Mario Perllëshaj.
During the fight, 14-year-old Luis Meçja was also injured and has left the country for treatment.
Full letter:
Since we are addressing you, we are Angel and Florina Cani, the parents of the 14-year-old boy Martin Cani, who has been missing from our family home for 3 weeks, after he was killed at a time when we believed he was safe at school, an institution administered by the Albanian state.
For over two weeks we have been experiencing, as if it were a second murder of Martin, the irresponsibility of the behavior of some Albanian institutions, due to the fact that none of them is taking responsibility and resigning due to their incompetence that caused us to lose our son. And the most incredible and unforgivable thing is that they are killing us as parents as well as Henri, Martin's brother, in an attempt to alienate and manipulate, by deliberately not revealing the incident, solely to save the guilty, who, unlike Martin, live above God.
I say this based on the information that people around me have. The discussions and debates that are taking place in television studios by news reporters, prosecutors, lawyers, and former police officers. And we are also afraid of the way it has happened in other tragedies where the perpetrators have been helped to escape punishment.
Miss Nancy!
I trust you as the mother of a wonderful son and as the representative of a Nation that holds justice sacred.
Please help me by seriously following the behavior and actions of Albanian law enforcement institutions to fully clarify the incident and bring to justice all those involved in direct crime and those who are defending the crime.
We know that Martin will never return to this life among us, but at least justice for those who killed me and are killing my son again will give us the opportunity to be calmer and focus on Henri, Martin's brother, who doesn't know that Martin, no longer sees him, no longer kisses him, and no longer sleeps with him, like he did until 3 weeks ago.
I trust you.
With respect and pain in the soul
Angel and Florina Cani
