On Monday, the day of the murder, Kristian Marku had informed his wife that he would be traveling to Vlora, without giving any reason for this move.

Marku, who had been convicted of various criminal offenses, had a troubled past. His uncle stated that the only conflict their family had was with the Reçi family. Meanwhile, the police are investigating to further clarify the motives and circumstances that led to his murder.
