The Tirana Court has today imposed the personal security measure " compulsory appearance " for 19 protesters who are suspected of being the perpetrators of the Molotov cocktails and fireworks that were thrown at the Prime Minister's Office, and then of the vandalism in front of the Parliament, during the January 24 protest held by the Democratic Party in the capital, where at least 11 police officers were injured by stones thrown by Sali Berisha's militants.
The Tirana Prosecutor's Office had requested prison sentences for 5 people, house arrest for 5 others, and mandatory reporting for 9 protesters.
Meanwhile, an incident was recorded in the lobby of the Criminal Court, while the court was adjourned for a decision. Lawyers for those arrested for the January 24 protest claim that they were provoked by a man creating tension.
