The United States Chargé d'Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn, has gone to the Ministry of Interior, where interviews with candidates for the new Director of the State Police are taking place. 

Earlier, the Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, also attended, and held a meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

This visit comes as the interview phase has begun for the 14 candidates vying for the position of Director General of the State Police, following the dismissal of Ilir Proda.

The interview process is taking place in alphabetical order, while the first to appear for an interview was Afrim Tafa, currently the director of the Durrës Police.
