Durrës Police has issued an official announcement regarding the capture of tens of thousands of liters of contraband oil on the trawler "LEON".

Contrary to what was initially reported that 50,000 liters of oil were seized, according to the blues of the coastal city, about 25,000 liters of oil were seized.

The police announce that they have arrested the two brothers Shpëtim and Roland Cani, 43 and 41 years old, who owned the trawler where the oil was found.

"Police services have identified and stopped for inspection the fishing boat in which the arrested citizens were sailing. As a result of the detailed inspection, on board the fishing boat, about 25,000 liters of oil were found and seized, for which these citizens did not have the necessary documentation." it is stated in the Police announcement.

The police announce that following the coded operational plan "Diesel 2", the citizens Artem Rusto, 49 years old, resident of Fier and Neshat Dedej, 58 years old, resident of Lushnja, were also arrested.

During the search on the bus driven by Artem Rusto and where Neshat Dedej was a passenger, the police found 120 bottles and 30 liters of wine, as well as 205 boxes of perfumes of different brands, goods which were found without purchase receipts and undeclared in customs.

The materials were passed to the Prosecution, for further actions, for the criminal offenses "Smuggling with goods subject to excise duty" and "Smuggling with other goods", committed in cooperation.
