Fire in Delvina

The city of Delvina is experiencing an alarming situation, perhaps one of the most dangerous in its history, as flames have surrounded the hills and are spreading rapidly towards homes.

The situation is almost apocalyptic, as the sky has reddened and the city has been invaded by smoke and ash that make visibility almost impossible.

Dozens of cars are blocked in the city center, which are believed to be residents looking to leave.

In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Defense says that it has ordered the Armed Forces and as well as firefighters from the districts to go to the city and help evacuate residents.

"Due to the flames that are approaching the city, most of the forces of the municipalities of Saranda, Gjirokastra, Konispol and Finiq, together with the Civil Emergency Support Brigade of the Armed Forces, have been deployed in the field to fight dangerous fires and help evacuate residents. There is no danger to housing", announces the Ministry of the Interior.

The city hospital is almost closed and doctors and patients have been evacuated due to the approaching flames.

The most serious situation is on the outskirts of Delvina, where flames have approached a large plant and gas field as well as several oil wells.
