"I waited 9 months for 9 minutes", Veliaj at the Constitutional Court:

Erion Veliaj is speaking at a public hearing being held at the Constitutional Court.

"I waited 9 months for 9 minutes, the battle comes after a long, disappointing saga to hear what I did to be kidnapped from office, with a more severe prison regime... Today I have more police officers in the Criminal Court than lawyers. I have experienced a long period filled with violations of fundamental rights, and denigration.

It is a contempt, an aversion to the vote, a contempt for it is a contempt for the power that citizens have that the people give to the republic to govern in their name. In the end, this arc also leans towards the right.

"I am here before you as the mayor of Tirana, with the right that 116 thousand votes have given me. At the end of these 9 months in search of this right. I am not here to defend myself because I have not committed any violation. But can we defend democracy together," said Veliaj.
