The State Police has officially opened applications today for the senior management positions of "Department Director" and "Local Police Director", as part of the new competition and promotion process within the structure.

Earlier, the Director of the State Police, Fatmir Hoxha, also resigned.

Applications will be open from November 3 to 11, 2025, and police officers with mid-level management roles can participate.

Announcement :

Based on point 1, point 2, letters “c” and “l” of article 55, as well as points 3 and 4 of article 61 of law no. 82/2024 “On the State Police”, in the Decision of the Council of Ministers no. 641, dated 16.10.2024 “On the approval of the regulation for the selection of the candidate for deputy director general, director of the department, director of the local directorate and chief of the police station, in the State Police”, as well as in articles 29-49 of the Decision of the Council of Ministers no. 112, dated 24.02.2025 “On the approval of the Regulation of the State Police”, the State Police announces the call for the submission of expressions of interest for the competition for the positions of “Director of the Department” and “Local Director of the Police”.

In order to develop an objective, transparent and comprehensive evaluation process, as well as to promote professional and managerial competition in the selection of candidates who demonstrate skills, high results, moral and professional integrity for the promotion of Police employees, the General Director of the State Police has ordered the opening of applications for competition for the positions:

“Department Director” at the Department for Border and Migration;

“Department Director” in the Department of International Relations;

"Local Police Director" at the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, due to the resignation from duty of the employee selected for this position, through a competition process;

"Local Police Director" at the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, due to the dismissal from duty, on 10.07.2025, of the director selected through a competition process.

The application phase will be open from 03.11.2025, 08:00, until 11.11.2025, 16:00.

The State Police invites its employees who hold one of the middle management roles to apply and compete for these positions, guaranteeing a fair, transparent and professional evaluation process.
