Head of SPAK, Arben Kraja, in an interview for RTSH, also spoke about the investigation against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

Kraja said that the chairman of the Democratic Party is being investigated in connection with the incident in Gërdec where 26 people lost their lives.

"We have issues under investigation related to the incident in Gërdec, where 26 people unfortunately lost their lives. We have issues related to the lobbying of political parties, which we are investigating.

Regarding Gërdec, the investigations are complex. It has its own difficulties, it has been a long time, but we will clarify all the circumstances of what happened within the possibilities we have.

The former Minister of Defense is under investigation for abuse of office, because he had that status, but was suspended due to immunity, meanwhile we are investigating the rest and if there is evidence, there will definitely be charges. for what will be proven", said Kraja.

Kraja said that the issue of the privatization of the "Partizani" complex is also under investigation, but did not provide details.

"Let's not take them personally. There are cases of concrete facts for which it is claimed that even the former prime minister or the former president may be involved.

The issue of Gërdec, which is being investigated, is public, and the issue of the privatization of the "Partizani" complex, which involves his family members, is discussed. The issues are under investigation and I cannot say anything more", stated the head of SPAK.

Asked if these issues were related to the statement made by DASH, Kraja added that they belong to the US government, while SPAK investigates criminal cases in Albania.

"We do not deal with statements, you must understand me. The statements are political statements, they are on other grounds. The statements are from the US government, meanwhile we are investigating criminal cases in Albania and we have not come to a conclusion either yes or no regarding those statements", said Kraja.

Asked by journalist Elona Meço if he contacted the US for additional data on Berisha, Kraja chose not to comment: "I don't have any comment to make on this."
