"Not as harsh as Rwanda", the British media reveal the plan: This is
Illegal immigrant camp

Albania has accepted an agreement with Italy to house thousands of illegal immigrants in two camps in Shengjin in Lezha.

The first agreement of its kind has sparked debate and has been widely commented on by experts around the world. Similar deals, such as Britain's attempt to take illegal immigrants to Rwanda, have failed.

But the British television "Sky News" revealed new details from the Rama-Meloni agreement for immigrants.

One issue in particular has raised many questions; what will happen to those immigrants who are not granted asylum in Italy.

The agreement makes it clear that, unlike the UK's plan for Rwanda, the joint agreement only covers the period during which their asylum applications are being considered and for a short period afterwards.

If an immigrant is granted asylum, then the person would be taken to Italy to start a new life.

The UK plan, in contrast, stipulates that an asylum seeker would be forced to stay in Rwanda even if they were granted asylum.

According to documents first seen by Sky News, the Italian agreement also states that if it proves impossible to send someone back to their country of origin, then they will be returned to Italy after a certain period of time, believed to be 40 days.

Sky News says the deal was reached between Rama and Meloni and that Ms Meloni's two deputy prime ministers, Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, were unaware of the deal until shortly before it was announced.
