The two requests of the former prime minister Sali Berisha for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka in the hearing against him at the GJKKO and the one for extinguishing the measure "obligation to appear", have been dismissed.

The request for the cancellation of the measure, which according to Berisha's defense lawyers is in violation of the Constitution, was reviewed by judge Irena Gjoka, for which Berisha's lawyers requested the exception.

Also, Jamarbër Malltez's request for the dismissal of judge Gjoka was rejected.

" Rejecting the request of the applicant/person under investigation Jamarbër Malltezi, with object: "Determining the loss of the power of the coercive measure "prison arrest" set according to decision no. 112, dated 20.10.2023 of the Special Court of the First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, against Prof. Dr. Jamarbër Malltezi.", as not based on the law ", states the decision of the GJKKO.

Malltezi also submitted the same request for the repeal of the "prison arrest" measure, but this request was also dismissed.

Speaking to the media, defense attorney Genc Gjokutaj said that the decision on security measures against Berisha and Malltez was given today, which according to him constitutes a violation.

"The clear decision was given to us today. Decisions are not deposited in the court's registry. We consider that decision unexecuted because they are standing by the violation. Both demands have been dismissed, including the one for Jamarbri", said Gjokutaj.
