SPAK has today issued an arrest warrant for the former mayor of Durrës Municipality, Vangjush Dako, together with 8 other former officials of the municipality and a businessman.

The request of the prosecutor Sotir Kllapi was accepted by the court and the arrest warrant against Vangjush Dako was signed around 15:00 by the Special Court. According to the data, it is about an investigation started about 1 year ago for a procurement procedure and the granting of a building permit.

Prosecutor Sotir Kllapi has the fate of ex-president Ilir Metaj in his hands, and has been keeping the investigations suspended for months. It is about the file of lobbying with undeclared money, report made by former MP Halit Valteri. He will decide whether he will request the raising of charges against Ilir Meta based on the evidence collected, the arrest of Meta or the dismissal of the case, where the decision is ultimately up to the court.
