The former head of IKMT Saranda, Julian Preni, and the former Urban Planning official in this city, Arjel Balani, have been released from prison.
They were arrested since October last year for corruption and illegal influence.
In June of this year, they were sentenced to 1 year and four months in prison.
In Sunday's session, based on the calculations, the Special Court found that the length of detention served is greater than the punishment.
For this reason, the black squads decided to release them immediately. Preni was accused of taking 3,000 euros from a citizen to avoid the demolition of the building he had built without permission.
Meanwhile, Balani exerted illegal influence by taking from the same citizen an amount of 6 thousand euros in order to arrange a permit for the use of the beach in Saranda.
