Albania once again stands out as a model to be followed by Great Britain in solving the problem of illegal immigrants after the failure to send immigrants to Rwanda.
All Sunday newspapers in the island nation focus on the expected meeting in Rome on Sunday between Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his counterpart Meloni.
The Sunday Telegraph reports that before this trip, Prime Minister Starmer was asked how he views the migrant agreement between Italy and Albania and whether Great Britain can implement a similar one.
"Let's see. I'm interested in how it works. I think that everyone else is doing this too" - stated Prime Minister Keir Starmer
While Sunday Express has a more than optimistic headline for a London-Tirana agreement like the one signed by Meloni and Rama.
"The Prime Minister is open to sending immigrants to Albania" is the title of this newspaper.
Even the Indipendent newspaper with a pro-immigrant approach writes about this issue, giving the article the title "Prime Minister open to send offshore asylum seekers to Albania".
The desire of the British may be great in realizing a similar agreement with Italy, but this is a decision that must be taken by the Albanian government.
At the European Political Community forum held in England on July 18, Prime Minister Starmer spent a long time conversing with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama. Undoubtedly, illegal immigration to England and what Rama achieved with Meloni must have been a central topic between them.
