Serious incident on Lake Ohrid, ferry pushed by storm for almost two hours, ends

A serious incident occurred on Lake Ohrid, where a ferry on the Ohrid-St. Naum line lost control due to strong winds and diverted into Albanian waters.

The ferry, which was heading from Shën Naum to Ohrid, was pushed by the storm for almost two hours, until it reached the village of Piskupat, in Albanian territory.

It is learned that while the ferry was in Albanian waters, the passengers suffered a major panic, but fortunately there were no injuries.

Meanwhile, after the storm calmed down, the ferry resumed sailing and headed towards Ohrid to re-enter Macedonian waters.

Local authorities reacted quickly and monitored the situation until stability was restored to the navigation trajectory.
