The hearing to review Ilir Meta's request for security measures will be held on August 13 at 10:00 a.m. We recall that the first hearing was held on August 8, but it was postponed.

Judge Erjon Bani declared incompetence, as former President Meta's lawyer requested, the hearing should be reviewed by the preliminary investigation judge.

For this reason, it was decided that the hearing would be postponed to be judged by Erion Çela.

The request for the replacement of the security measure was submitted by Meta's lawyers on August 6, according to which the latter no longer has the possibility that Ilir Meta could tamper with the evidence, because the investigation has been closed and the file has gone to trial.

Likewise, in his request for relief from Meta's measure, the lawyer proposed that the former president's passport be blocked so that he would not be able to leave Albania.

SPAK announced the closure of the investigations and charges against former President Ilir Meta for the CEZ/DIA file and lobbying in the US for concealing assets, money laundering and corruption.
