He stole money from a 24-year-old woman and took out a loan in her name,

A 41-year-old man has been arrested by the police on suspicion of fraud and obtaining a loan in the name of a young citizen.

Immediately after the report made by a 24-year-old resident of Kruja, police services took investigative actions that led to the identification of the suspected perpetrator.

The 41-year-old with the initials F.XH, a resident of Durrës, has previously been convicted of the criminal offense of fraud.

Preliminary investigations show that on February 9, 2026, the 41-year-old man fraudulently obtained the sum of 550 thousand lek from the young woman.

Also, on February 24, 2026, he is suspected of having applied for and obtained a loan in her name from a financial institution.

Police announcement:

The 41-year-old man was caught and arrested after defrauding a citizen of a large sum of money and obtaining a loan in her name.

The 41-year-old, previously convicted of fraud. 

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Krujë Police Commissariat, as a result of the investigative actions that were carried out immediately after a citizen reported a fraud case, have identified the suspected perpetrator. In cooperation with the services of the Durrës DVP, it was possible to capture and arrest the suspected perpetrator, the citizen:  

-F. Xh., 41 years old, resident of Durrës, previously convicted of fraud.  

From the investigations, it is suspected that this citizen, on 09.02.2026, received 550,000 lek, through fraud, from a 24-year-old citizen, resident of Krujë, and on 24.02.2026, he applied for and received a loan in her name, at a financial institution.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
