The appeal of the GJKKO overturns the SPAK for Lefter Koka

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has decided this Thursday to leave in force the decision to lift the security measure "Arrest in prison" for former Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka.

With this decision, the Appeals Court of Kosovo has rejected the request of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), which requested the reversal of the First Instance decision and the maintenance of the coercive measure in force.

In a session presided over by Judge Tereza Merkaj, the panel examined the appeal filed by SPAK against the decision of the Court of First Instance (decision no. 798), taken on December 11, 2025. This decision had established the loss of the power of detention for Koka, a measure that had been active for about four years.
