The General Consulate of the Republic of Albania in this city announces that so far there are no reports of Albanians injured by the suspected terrorist explosion in Taksim Square in Istanbul.

The consulate informs all Albanian citizens who are in Istanbul, in case of need, to contact immediately through the phone numbers that have been made available.

"It is with great regret that we learned the news about the explosion that happened a little while ago in Taksim in the area of ​​Istiklal Caddesi where the authorities report injuries and victims. We inform all citizens living in Istanbul, those who are here to visit it or Albanians have relatives in case of need to immediately contact the phone numbers: +905396566219 and +905461000014
The Consulate General in Istanbul is closely monitoring the situation together with the authorities." said the post of the consulate.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, also reacted to this event, who said that she is in constant communication with the Turkish authorities.

"Explosion in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey. Our prayers go out to the families of those who lost their lives and for the speedy recovery of the injured. We stand by Turkey and its people on this painful day," Xhaçka writes.

So far, as a result of the tragic explosion, 6 victims and 53 injured have been reported. The authorities have a woman as the suspected perpetrator who planted the bomb.
