Residents of Bëxulla in Rinas tried today to block the Rinas-Tirana axis protesting the road being built on their land. The protest has worsened and FNSH groups have also arrived to help the law enforcement, making it possible to clear the road.

"We will die in our properties. Let them make us a tombstone. We, the residents, are telling them, the state divides the police, who are used as meat for land. We are telling them that we will become criminals here, whoever touches our land will become a corpse here! Everything is a crime here, every minute,' said one of the residents.

Residents have expressed that the state is robbing them of their land and not compensating them at the right price and that they are stealing from us.

The residents of Bërxulla have been protesting for days, seeking to receive compensation for the properties affected by the Thumanë-Kashar-Fier road project. They say that the company Gener2, which has won the project with a concession for 35 years, in violation of the law, has started work on the ground without having a construction permit. Residents claim that they have not received any notification regarding the project, nor about the expropriations. There are about 200 residents of Fushë-Preza and Bërxulla, who are affected by the destruction of properties and agricultural lands. Some of these apartments are still in the process of legalization, while they have ownership certificates for agricultural lands.
