A driver was arrested in Tirana by the Traffic Police after trying to bribe the officers with 200 Euros to avoid the fine.

The 27-year-old man with the initials MM was stopped on Dajti Street because he was not wearing a seat belt and after the alcohol test it turned out that he was driving the vehicle in a drunken state.

To avoid the fine, the driver tried to bribe the policemen, but was arrested. He is accused of active corruption of persons exercising public functions.

According to the Traffic Police, the number of arrested drivers who attempted to bribe police officers in order to avoid legal obligations or administrative measures has reached 71.
