A Portuguese tourist is suspected to have drowned, after entering to bathe in the sea, but never came out again.

The incident, according to the Saranda police, happened around 18:00, of "Buka e Vivarit" near Butrint. The search is ongoing.

Police Notification:

On 27.07.2025, around 18:00, near the lagoon, in the place called "Buka e Vivarit", the Portuguese citizen AG, 57 years old, who was with some of his friends, was no longer seen from the moment he swam into the sea.

The services of the Saranda Border Police, in cooperation with patrols from the ground, continue the searches at sea and in the area around the coast, to find him.

The investigative group set up by the Saranda Police Station is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
