The 37-year-old woman who tragically lost her life yesterday, while being transported by ambulance to Tirana for medical assistance, is being escorted to her final home today. The deceased, Marjana Karolina Bunaj, who was pregnant, will be buried in Laç, her birthplace, where family, relatives and friends will bid her final farewell.

The serious incident occurred on the evening of August 30, after the 37-year-old woman presented herself at the Pogradec maternity hospital in poor health. After the examination, she was taken by ambulance to Tirana to receive specialized treatment.

But on the way, her condition worsened and the ambulance was directed to the maternity ward of the Elbasan hospital. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the hospital determined that the woman had passed away. After the incident, the Police referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and criminal proceedings were initiated against the three doctors of the Pogradec maternity ward, who had examined the 37-year-old before her transportation.

The three doctors are being investigated for the criminal offense of "Neglect in Medical Treatment", while the Korça Prosecutor's Office will continue investigations to uncover the full circumstances of the tragic event.
