A 27-year-old man lost his life this evening after allegedly coming into contact with high-voltage wires in Kamëz.

The incident occurred around 8:00 PM, at his uncle's apartment, on "Adriatic" Street, in neighborhood no. 5. According to the police, the young man was fixing the water tank above the apartment, when he came into contact with the electrical line, which was located above it.

He was taken to hospital for medical attention, but could not survive his injuries.

"Around 20:00, citizen RT, about 27 years old, was sent for medical assistance to the Trauma Hospital. It is suspected that, while he was in his uncle's apartment, on "Adriatic" Street, neighborhood no. 5, Kamëz, while adjusting the water tank above the apartment, he came into contact with the wires of the high-voltage electrical line, which were located above the apartment.

As a result of the injuries sustained, the 27-year-old died in hospital.

"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances of the case," the police announced.
