New movements have occurred in the State Police today, August 31st.
According to information, Luigj Vathi has been appointed the new director of Border and Migration in Korça. Luigj Vathi was previously the director of the Berat Local Police Directorate.
Meanwhile, Gëzim Zhupaj, who held this position for about 2 years, has been transferred to the position of head of the sector at the General Directorate of Police.
Sources also indicate that Kastriot Skënderaj is expected to be appointed director of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate.
He will replace Fatmir Hoxha in this position.
It is learned that movements have also been made in other regions.
The changes come a few days after the new State Police law entered into force, which now allows the Director General of the State Police to appoint directors and heads of police stations without competition, if he deems it reasonable that they provide new impulses to public order and peace.
From September 2024, such a practice was impossible, with changes to the State Police law of the time, which paved the way for competition for the highest leadership levels in the Blues.
