A 20-year-old Albanian woman in Rimini, Italy, left home to live with her Italian boyfriend, but her decision turned into a nightmare. According to Italian media, her Albanian parents, 44 and 47, originally from North Macedonia and part of the Muslim community, did not approve of the relationship because the girl's partner was not of the Muslim faith. They allegedly harassed and threatened her for months, until they ended up being charged by Italian authorities with harassment and intimidation.

According to Italian media, the Albanian family has lived in Rimini for many years. Her parents had imposed strict religious rules at home and the girl was forced to adhere to restrictions on dress, company and lifestyle. But everything changed when she met an Italian peer and a relationship began between them.

The fact that the young man was not Muslim was not accepted by the 20-year-old's parents. They repeatedly tried to convince the girl to end the relationship, but the more the pressure increased, the more strained the family relations became.

After a final argument, the young woman decided to leave home. She hurriedly moved into her boyfriend's apartment, trying not to leave any trace of her whereabouts. The parents did not know the address where the couple lived, but, according to the investigation, they began asking acquaintances and compatriots until they found out.

After they found the place where the two young men were living, according to the investigative file, daily pressure began. The girl constantly received messages asking her to return home, accompanied by threats that investigators considered serious.

"I can find you even if you go to the moon, because Albanian families are all united," one message read. Another read: "If you don't come home, you will have a hellish life."

The situation prompted the two young men to contact the Rimini Police, where they filed their first complaint. However, the incident did not end there.

A short time later, the parents sent the girl a photo of the father on the street where the couple's apartment was located. For the young people, this was a clear signal that the family had discovered their location and could find them at any moment. After this episode, they filed a second complaint and asked the Rimini Police Chief to take action against the parents, to prevent them from approaching them.

According to the investigation, the most serious episode occurred in May 2026. The two parents went to the apartment where the couple lived and entered without permission. According to Italian media, they were about to attack them with punches and kicks, but the two young men managed to get into a room, locked themselves in and called the police, avoiding a confrontation.

This episode was included in the investigation file and, according to reports, strengthened the suspicions of the Rimini Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor Davide Ercolani decided to prosecute the two parents, who are now accused at large of stalking and threats.

According to Italian media, investigations continue, while the young couple seeks to live peacefully, away from the pressures and threats that, according to the complaint, have lasted for months.
