The court of Kukës has accepted the request for termination of the security measure for Burim Duraku, requested by the Greek justice after he was accused of the criminal offense "premeditated murder in cooperation". The request was addressed by the lawyer Sokol Tahiraj for the reason of losing the power of detention for exceeding the maximum investigative deadlines from the time determined based on article 261 / 1c / of the Code of Criminal Procedure.


Duraku was arrested on 20.12.2019 by RENEA forces after being charged with the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder", "Illegal Possession of a Weapon", "Violent Theft" and "Illegal Border Crossing, in Cooperation". During the operation, "Renea" forces exercised control in his apartment, where they found and seized 1 pistol, 1 shotgun, 2 pairs of binoculars and ammunition.

Burim Duraku is accused of the murder committed in 2010 on May 1 in the place called Argostoli in Kefalonia, Greece. Duraku, in collaboration with Sh. D., disguised as having entered the private residence of a Greek citizen AV

After trying unsuccessfully to open the door between the kitchen and the living room with a sharp tool, which was locked, they broke the door and went inside. There they found the Greek AV, to whom they tied his hands and feet with an adhesive tape.

They then tore a piece of his jacket with a knife and wrapped it with adhesive tape, suffocating him, and then put a plastic bag on his head, and as a result of asphyxiation, she died. These two citizens then stole a lot of money and some valuables.
