Albanians sentenced to imprisonment in Northern Macedonia, in the High Security Prison Idrizovo, denounce the poor conditions in which they are held. An Albanian convict from Pogradec says that the cells do not even have the minimum conditions.

He has sent to our editorial office a video showing the prisoners sleeping on the floor after the separate cells are filled. "A cell that is for 3 people, we stay 9 and we can not fill our breath," he says. But this is not the only problem.


" The law contains that we have a few days leave to go home, to meet family members, they do not give it to us. We also have parole, they do not give us that either. Hygiene is scandalous. " Food is also not eaten by street dogs, " the young man wrote, sending pictures of a cardboard box of bread that had been sent to their cell.

He denounces that in his knowledge 70 Albanians of Albania are in Idrizova Prison, but the number emphasizes that it is higher, if you count those of Kosovo and Northern Macedonia. "Even the prison hospital does not have doctors, but the convicts are kept with tranquilizers."


The complainant says that he was sentenced to 6 years in prison for transporting 40 kilograms of drugs. "I did it to get the bread out of my mouth. I was forced by the evil, now I have repented but I am not extradited to Albania to serve my sentence in our state ", the prisoner continues.

He says that other Albanians have the same "problem", so he wants the Albanian authorities to be set in motion. "Please inform the Albanian state, the prime minister, the president, to do something for our destiny", it is said in the message he sent.
