Theft of 700 million lek from the Durrës post office, Appeal leaves former

The Court of Appeals has reportedly upheld the security measure of "prison arrest" for the former director of the Albanian Post Office of Durrës, Elisabeta Mataj, who is accused of stealing nearly 700 million lek, funds that were to be used for the coastal city's pensioners and people on economic assistance. 

It is also reported that her two former subordinates, former treasurer Paola Danaj and former finance chief Valbona Duni, have been placed under "house arrest".
