A prostitution ring has been hit by Tirana police, during the operation codenamed "Escort".

Aynur Hamidova, a 35-year-old from Azerbaijan, has been arrested and is suspected of being the tutor of 5 foreign girls who have been criminally prosecuted.

A 51-year-old resident of Tirana has also been processed at large. The 35-year-old operated the network through a website, and is suspected of recruiting girls from Turkey and Azerbaijan by blackmailing them with intimate photos.

Police announcement:

The police operation codenamed "Escort" is finalized by the Illicit Trafficking Investigation Section at the Tirana Police Department.

A 35-year-old woman from Azerbaijan was arrested for recruiting foreign nationals who she then used for prostitution, through an escort website she managed.

Five other citizens are being prosecuted, four of them female citizens for practicing prostitution and one male citizen for exploitation.

The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, in continuation of its work to crack down on illegalities in the field of illegal trafficking, has organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Escort".

As part of this operation:

- Citizen AH, 35 years old, from Azerbaijan, residing in Georgia and Tirana, was arrested, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Exploitation of prostitution" and "Prostitution".

They were processed at large:

- for engaging in prostitution, citizens G. Ç., 40 years old, KI, 32 years old, SE, 26 years old, MH, 26 years old, AS, 32 years old, temporarily residing in Tirana;

- for exploitation of prostitution, citizen DA, 51 years old, resident of Tirana.

Citizen AH is suspected of recruiting foreign nationals from Turkey and Azerbaijan, and then using an online website to exploit them for prostitution. When the recruited girls sought to withdraw from this criminal activity, the suspected perpetrator, through photos published on this website, exerted pressure on them.
