The trial against Laert Haxhiu at the Special Court continues with the questioning of witnesses, while in the next session Sami Bashaliu testified, recounting details about a criminal incident that occurred near his bar.

During his testimony, Bashaliu was asked by the prosecutor if any murders had occurred near the bar where he operated.

"Yes, I have a bar in front of my house," the witness stated, indicating that the incident had occurred in the morning hours.

According to him, a white Audi vehicle with Albanian license plates and tinted windows had arrived at the scene.

"It was morning, there was a car with black windows, a white Audi with Albanian license plates. I approached, I didn't see anyone," Bashaliu confessed.

He said that the victim, Albi Bashaliu, had entered the bar to drink coffee and then gone outside, where a person approached from a vehicle.

"The deceased Bashaliu went in to drink coffee. Someone got out of the car and spoke to Bashaliu. Gunshots were heard. They were covered in masks. He shot several times," the witness stated.

Bashaliu continued his testimony by describing the moments after the shooting.

"The one who shot him stayed there, the other one poured gasoline on the car. He set the car on fire and left him lying there. They shot him again, that's all I saw," he told the court.

The witness explained that Albi Bashaliu was part of his tribe and that he was known by the nickname "John".

Meanwhile, asked if he knew about Laert Haxhiu before the murder, Bashaliu said he had not heard of him.

"We had not heard anything about Laert Haxhiu before the murder," he declared.

According to his testimony, Albi Bashaliu had been at his bar the night before the incident.

"Albi was at the bar the night before the incident, the murder took place early the next morning," said Sami Bashaliu.

The trial against Laert Haxhiu continues with the administration of evidence and the hearing of witnesses summoned by the Special Court.
