During his visit to Elbasan, Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the distribution of certificates of appreciation to citizens who have invested and contributed to their city.
Among the people who were awarded the title of Recognition was Elton Kikia, a journalist with 13 years of experience, who left his profession and Tirana to live in the village where he opened a donkey farm.
He says that he prefers dealing with donkeys rather than enduring the stress that Tirana causes him.
"I am Elton Kikia, resident of Tirana but born in Papër of Elbasan, where I returned after 30 years to invest in a donkey farm. After 16 years of working in the capitals and after 13 years of working professionally as a journalist, I felt better among the donkeys than in the stress, traffic of Tirana and the connection between journalism and the media, with a few jokes in here. The idea of starting a farm was crazy, no one supported me, but anyway I decided to put the journalism degree in the drawer and never see it again. I came to the village, bought some donkeys and started by doing a combination of the marketing experience he gave me and the experience of a boy who grew up in the village. Everyone says you don't sell, but you'll never sell if you don't know. At first I didn't even know, but today I have a market starting from Skopje,, said Kikia.
When Rama gave him the Certificate of Appreciation, he jokingly said: "Respect! He left the donkeys of the city and came to see the donkeys here in the village".
